'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he remembers the dramatic closing stages of his team's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match ended with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful effort from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess quickly slammed home the rebound before racing off toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with fans swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result completed an extraordinary turnaround given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 during the second half. Amid the delirium, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result earned a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with the attacker's long-range effort from about way out going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that far out," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right flank after the team changed formation. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way his former team approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Athletically they are outstanding but even the basics and simple things, they can just perform consistently," Galbraith says. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they understand how to dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be focused throughout of the game. It demands a tough attitude and focus just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly done the same in south Wales. At his previous team he reunited with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he moved on from his boyhood club.

Development Path

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without serious challenge. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

National Team Success

He has shown that development for his team and nation, performing well for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including both legs encounters against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

This marks quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his father, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Old Trafford Memory

The player's sole appearance for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they competed on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was sealed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "This represented a extended travel and it was chilly," he says, chuckling. "The week before, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I felt I had to take a different path, drop down the leagues and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a minibus driven by team personnel, the drivers, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"My companions include a teammate, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to socialize with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the next one out of the minibus and driving. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

When he represented Orient, Galbraith would blend in with followers on the Tube after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
